Public Participation and Request for Comments

    This notice relies on the authority of the Paperwork Reduction Act 
of 1995; 44 U.S.C. 3501 et seq., chapter 35, as amended. An ICR is an 
application to OIRA seeking the approval, extension, or renewal of a 
Coast Guard collection of information (Collection). The ICR contains 
information describing the Collection's purpose, the Collection's 
likely burden on the affected public, an explanation of the necessity 
of the Collection, and other important information describing the

    The Coast Guard invites comments on whether this ICR should be

    Summary: This collection of information requires owners, operators, 
agents or masters of certain inspected vessels to obtain and/or post 
various forms as part of the Coast Guard's Commercial Vessel Safety 
Program.
    Need: The Coast Guard's Commercial Vessel Safety Program 
regulations are found in 46 CFR, including parts 2, 26, 31, 71, 91, 
107, 115, 126, 169, 176 and 189, as authorized in Title 46 U.S. Code. A 
number of reporting and recordkeeping requirements are contained 
therein.
