Abstract: Internal Revenue Code section 38(b)(2) allows a credit against income tax to employers hiring individuals from certain targeted groups such as welfare recipients, etc. The employer uses Form 5884 to compute this credit. The IRS uses the information on the form to verify that the correct amount of credit was claimed. Current Actions: There is no change to the existing form or burden at this time. Type of Review: Extension of a currently approved collection. Affected Public: Individuals or households, business or other for-profit organizations and farms. Estimated Number of Respondents: 10,000. Estimated Time per Respondent: 6 hours, 57 minutes. Estimated Total Annual Burden Hours: 69,400 hours. The following paragraph applies to all the collections of information covered by this notice.
