meeting of the SBA Council on
Underserved Communities (the
‘‘Council’’). The Council is tasked with
providing advice, ideas and opinions on
SBA programs and services and issues
of interest to small businesses in
underserved communities. For more

The purpose of the meeting is to
provide the Council with information
on SBA’s efforts to support small
businesses in underserved communities,
as well as provide an opportunity for
the Council to discuss its goals for the
coming months. The Council will
provide insights based on information

research and recommendation
development.

I. Background
On October 3, 2019, FAA established
the Task Force under the Federal
Advisory Committee Act (FACA) in
accordance with section 602 of the FAA
Reauthorization Act of 2018 (Pub. L.
115–254). The Task Force is required by
statute to develop and provide
independent recommendations and
strategies to the FAA Administrator to:
(1) Facilitate and encourage high school
students in the United States to enroll

in and complete career and technical
education courses, including science,
technology, engineering, and
mathematics (STEM), that will prepare
them to pursue a course of study related
to an aviation career at an institution of
higher education, a community college,
or trade school; (2) facilitate and
encourage these students to enroll in a
course of study related to an aviation
career, including aviation
manufacturing, engineering and
maintenance, at an institution of higher
education, including a community
college or trade school; and (3) identify
and develop pathways for students to
secure registered apprenticeships,
workforce development programs, or
careers in the aviation industry of the
United States.
The charter was renewed on October
4, 2021.
