Abstract: Firearms manufacturers
must create and maintain permanent
records of all firearms manufactured
and disposed of. These records support
the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco,
Firearms and Explosives’ mission to
inquire into the disposition of any
firearm, during the course of a criminal
investigation.
(5) An estimate of the total number of
respondents and the amount of time
estimated for an average respondent to
respond: An estimated 10,513
respondents will respond 677.12822

Estimates: The increase in total
respondents by 1,457, is due to more
firearms manufacturers responding to
this collection. However, the total

respectively, because less firearms were
produced since the last renewal of this
collection in 2018.
