Description of Permit Modification Requested: The Foundation issued a permit (ACA 2017–016) to Leidos Innovations Group on October 30, 2016. The issued permit allows entry into nine Antarctic Specially Protected Areas (ASPAs) in the Ross Sea Region. This modification also includes a change to the list of agents granted ASPA entry under the permit. The Environmental Officer has reviewed the modification request and has determined that the amendment is not a material change to the permit, and it will have a less than a minor or transitory impact. Entry into the specially protected areas is permitted to support the research and logistic objectives of the United States Antarctic Program. The applicant requests a permit modification to extend the expiration date of the permit until January 31, 2023.
