ACTION: Notice of meeting.
AGENCY:
Pursuant to the Federal
Advisory Committee Act, notice is
hereby given that the National Council
on the Humanities will meet to review
applications for financial assistance
under the National Foundation on the
Arts and Humanities Act of 1965 and
make recommendations thereon to the
Chairman of the National Endowment
for the Humanities (NEH).
DATES: The meeting will be held on
Thursday, August 19, 2021, from 10:30
a.m. until 2:00 p.m., and on Friday,
August 20, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until
adjourned.
ADDRESSES: The meeting will be held by
videoconference originating at
Constitution Center, 400 7th Street SW,
Washington, DC 20506.

The following Committees of the
National Council on the Humanities
will convene by videoconference on
August 19, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until
2:00 p.m., to discuss specific grant
applications and programs for The
American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act
funding before the Council:

ARP Organizations Committee 2
(Division of Education Programs);

(Division of Preservation and Access);

The plenary session of the National
Council on the Humanities will convene
by videoconference on August 20, 2021,
at 11:00 a.m. After remarks from the

Council will hear reports on and
consider applications for NEH ARP

552b(c)(6), and 552b(c)(9)(B) of Title 5
U.S.C., as amended, because it will
include review of personal and/or
proprietary financial and commercial
information given in confidence to the
agency by grant applicants, and
discussion of certain information, the
premature disclosure of which could
significantly frustrate implementation of
proposed agency action. I have made
this determination pursuant to the
authority granted me by the Chairman’s
Delegation of Authority to Close
Advisory Committee Meetings dated
April 15, 2016.

Foundation (NSF) announces its intent
to hold proposal review meetings
throughout the year. The purpose of
these meetings is to provide advice and
recommendations concerning proposals
submitted to the NSF for financial
support. The agenda for each of these
meetings is to review and evaluate
proposals as part of the selection
process for awards. The review and
evaluation may also include assessment
of the progress of awarded proposals.
These meetings will primarily take
place at NSF’s headquarters, 2415
Eisenhower Avenue, Alexandria, VA
22314.
These meetings will be closed to the
public. The proposals being reviewed
include information of a proprietary or
confidential nature, including technical
information; financial data, such as
salaries; and personal information
concerning individuals associated with
the proposals. These matters are exempt
under 5 U.S.C. 552b(c), (4) and (6) of the
Government in the Sunshine Act. NSF
will continue to review the agenda and
merits of each meeting for overall
compliance of the Federal Advisory
Committee Act.
These closed proposal review
meetings will not be announced on an
individual basis in the Federal Register.
NSF intends to publish a notice similar
to this on a quarterly basis. For an
advance listing of the closed proposal
review meetings that include the names
of the proposal review panel and the
time, date, place, and any information
on changes, corrections, or
cancellations, please visit the NSF
