On September 1, 2021, the agenda will include a discussion of new research initiatives for fiscal year 2023, follow up discussion of diversity, equity, and inclusion activities in response to the NRAC recommendations; and discussion of a white paper on best practices in collaborating with academic affiliates and non-profit corporations in response to a Government Accountability Report on extramural funding. The Committee will review VA program activities related to Gulf War Veterans’ illnesses and updates on relevant scientific research published since the last Committee meeting. This meeting will include presentations related to health issues, complications of aging, and disorders of the autonomic nervous system, and will engage VA Senior Leadership. This meeting will also include Committee discussion of Committee business and activities. The meeting will include time reserved for public comments 30 minutes before the meeting closes.
