Estimated number of respondents:
430 (total).
Frequency of response: Yearly for
certification, production, ABT, and
warranty reports.
Total estimated burden: 1,718 hours
(per respondent, per year). Burden is
defined at 5 CFR 1320.3(b).
Total estimated cost: $95,360,655 (per
year), includes $30,243,492.655
annualized capital or operation &
maintenance costs.
Changes in Estimates: There is a
decrease of 190 Respondents due to a
previous overestimate of the number of
component manufacturers certifying
under 40 CFR part 1060. However, as a
result of consolidating Defect and Recall
reporting and an improved and
complete accounting for compliance
activities, such as Production-Line
testing, the total hours to comply with
this collection request has increased for
the total estimated burden of 738,603
hours for the industry.

Director, Compliance Division, Office of
Transportation and Air Quality.
