VA Form 21P–527 is used to gather the necessary information to determine a veteran’s eligibility for Veterans Pension. Without this information, VA will not be able to determine a Veteran’s eligibility to the benefit. A Veteran may also use this form to file a new Veterans Pension claim after VA has discontinued a previous pension award and the Veteran is requesting his or her benefits be reinstated. Without this information, VA will not be able to determine a Veteran’s eligibility to the benefit. The purpose of this study is to monitor the effectiveness of VR&E program, so that we can find ways to improve the program and increase the support VA provide to Veterans daily. The data collected in this study is integral to VA submitting a congressionally-mandated annual report on the long-term outcomes of Veterans who participate in the VR&E program.
