staff may serve as project directors in
partnership with an eligible applicant.

program, ‘‘Indian tribe’’ means any
tribe, band, nation, or other organized
group or community, including any
Alaska native village, regional
corporation, or village corporation (as
defined in, or established pursuant to,
the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act
(43 U.S.C. 1601 et seq.)), which is
recognized as eligible for the special
programs and services provided by the
United States to Indians because of their

collection of information is necessary
for the proper performance of the
functions of the agency, including
whether the information will have
practical utility;
• Evaluate the accuracy of the
agency’s estimate of the burden of the
proposed collection of information
including the validity of the
methodology and assumptions used;
• Enhance the quality, utility, and
clarity of the information to be

collection techniques, or other forms of
information technology (e.g., permitting
electronic submissions of responses).
