Department of Justice component is the
Drug Enforcement Administration,
Office of Diversion Control.
4. Affected public who will be asked
or required to respond, as well as a brief
abstract:
Affected public (Primary): Business or
other for-profit.
Affected public (Other): None.
Abstract: DEA Form 236 enables DEA
to monitor and control the importation
and exportation of controlled
substances. Analysis of these documents
provides DEA with important
intelligence regarding the international
commerce in controlled substances and
assists in the identification of suspected
points of diversion.
5. An estimate of the total number of
respondents and the amount of time
estimated for an average respondent to
respond: DEA estimates that there are
323 total respondents for this
information collection. In total, 323
respondents submit 8,154 responses,
with each response taking 15 minutes to
complete.
6. An estimate of the total public
burden (in hours) associated with the
proposed collection: DEA estimates that
this collection takes 2,039 annual
burden hours.
