Abstract: The Application for Federal Firearms License—ATF Form 7 (5310.12)/7 CR (5310.16) is used by members of the public to apply for all types of federal firearm licenses (FFLs). The information requested on the form is used to determine the eligibility of the applicant to obtain a FFL, and verify the identity of a responsible person (RP). 5. An estimate of the total number of respondents and the amount of time estimated for an average respondent to respond: An estimated 13,000 respondents will utilize the form annually, and it will take each respondent approximately one (1) hour to complete their responses. 6. An estimate of the total public burden (in hours) associated with the collection: The estimated annual public burden associated with this collection is 13,000 hours, which is equal to 13,000 (# of respondents) * 1(# of responses per respondent) * 1 (60 minutes). 7. An Explanation of the Change in Estimates: The adjustments associated with this information collection include a decrease in the total respondents and responses by 2,000, since the last renewal in 2017. However, due to an increase in the postal rate, the total mailing costs for this IC has also risen by $100 since 2017.
