By not obtaining school certification, overpayment of annuities to children would exist. This information may be collected from some schools which are non-profit institutions such as religious institutions. If information is not received after the end of each school enrollment, over disbursements of an annuity would be made to a child who elected not to continue further training or study. The information from the DD Form 2168 will be extracted by the appropriate military personnel office and used to complete the DD Form 214, ‘‘Certificate for Release or Discharge from Active Duty.’’ The Veterans Administration uses information on the DD Form 2168 to verify benefits eligibility.
