The West Virginia Resource
Advisory Committee (RAC) will meet in
Elkins, West Virginia. The committee is
authorized under the Secure Rural
Schools and Community SelfDetermination Act (the Act) and
operates in compliance with the Federal
Advisory Committee Act. The purpose
of the committee is to improve
collaborative relationships and to
provide advice and recommendations to
the Forest Service concerning projects
and funding consistent with the Act.

1. Provide an overview of the Secure
Rural Schools and Community SelfDetermination Act and the
responsibilities of RAC members.
2. Discuss and decide how the WV
RAC will function.
The meeting is open to the public.
The agenda will include time for people
to make oral statements of three minutes
or less. Individuals wishing to make an
oral statement should request in writing
by January 9, 2020 to be scheduled on
the agenda. Anyone who would like to
bring related matters to the attention of
the committee may file written
statements with the committee staff
before or after the meeting. Written
comments and requests for time to make

AGENCY:
Notice is hereby given,
pursuant to the provisions of the rules
and regulations of the U.S. Commission
on Civil Rights (Commission) and the
Federal Advisory Committee Act that
the Washington Advisory Committee
(Committee) will hold a meeting via
teleconference on Thursday January 16,
2020 from 1:30–2:30 p.m. Pacific Time
for the purpose of discussing the
Committee’s proposed forthcoming
topic of study: Voting Rights in
Washington.
