ACTION: Notice of availability and request for comment. AGENCY: The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) gives notice of an interim report to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) on the DOE Information Quality Act (IQA) Guidelines setting forth updates to DOE’s policy and procedures to ensure and maximize the quality, utility, objectivity, and integrity of the information that DOE disseminates to members of the public. DOE has prepared this interim report pursuant to OMB Memorandum M–19– SUMMARY: PO 00000 Frm 00027 Fmt 4703 Sfmt 4703 15, Improving Implementation of the Information Quality Act, issued April 24, 2019, which requires federal departments and agencies to update their existing IQA Guidelines to address implementation updates and additional best practices. DOE invites public comment on the interim report and draft updates to the DOE IQA Guidelines. Introduction and Background The Office of Management and Budget’s (OMB) issued the Guidelines for Ensuring and Maximizing the Quality, Objectivity, Utility, and Integrity of Information Disseminated by Federal Agencies (67 FR 8452, February 22, 2002) under section 515 of the Treasury and General Government Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2001 (Pub. L. 106–554, 114 Stat. 2763) (OMB Guidelines). Pursuant to the OMB Guidelines, the DOE published its Final Report containing the Departmental version of the Guidelines in the Federal Register on October 7, 2002 (67 FR 62446) (DOE IQA Guidelines).
