Such a tank, on an unmanned barge, 30 years old or older is subject to nondestructive testing once every ten years. Need: Under Title 46 U.S.C. 3703, the Coast Guard is responsible for ensuring safe shipment of liquid dangerous cargoes and has promulgated regulations for certain barges to ensure the meeting of safety standards.
