SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: DOE published a Request for Information (‘‘RFI’’) pertaining to the energy conservation standards for small electric motors on April 9, 2019. 84 FR 14027. PO 00000 Frm 00001 Fmt 4702 Sfmt 4702 The RFI initiated a data collection process to consider whether to amend DOE’s energy conservation standards for small electric motors, and whether amending the standards for small electric motors would result in significant energy savings and be technologically feasible and economically justified. DOE requested written comment, data, and information pertaining to these standards by May 24, 2019. On May 22, 2019, the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (‘‘NEMA’’), an interested party in the matter, requested a one-week extension of the public comment period for the RFI that DOE previously published in the Federal Register on April 9, 2019. (NEMA, EERE–2019–BT–STD–0008, No. 4) The comment period for the RFI closed on May 24, 2019.1 DOE has determined that a reopening of the comment period to allow additional time for interested parties to submit comments is appropriate. Therefore, DOE is reopening the comment period and will accept comments until June 7, 2019, to provide interested parties additional time to prepare and submit comments. SUMMARY: On April 9, 2019, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) 
published a request for information pertaining to the energy 
conservation standards for small electric motors. The notice provided
