II. Discussion
khammond on DSKBBV9HB2PROD with NOTICES
On May 2, 2019, the NRC published
a notice in the Federal Register (84 FR
18874) requesting comments on draft
approaches the staff developed
regarding the T&E requirements for
radiopharmaceuticals requiring a
written directive. The public comment
period was originally scheduled to close
on June 3, 2019. By letter dated May 13,
2019 (ADAMS Accession No.
ML19136A236), the American College
of Radiology, the American Society for
Radiation Oncology, and the Society of
Nuclear Medicine and Molecular
Imaging jointly requested a 30-day
extension to the public comment period.
United Pharmacy Partners, Inc. also
submitted a request for extension by
letter dated May 14, 2019 (ADAMS
Accession No. ML19136A238).
Additional requests for an extension to
the public comment period were also
heard during a May 14, 2019, public
comment meeting. The NRC is granting
this request and will extend the public
comment period until July 3, 2019, to
allow more time for medical and
regulatory stakeholders and members of
the public to submit their comments.
Dated at Rockville, Maryland, this 17th day
of May 2019.
For the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

Director, Division of Materials Safety,
Security, State, and Tribal Programs, Office
of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards.
