AGENCY:
As provided for under the
Mineral Leasing Act of 1920, as
amended, the Bureau of Land
Management (BLM) received a petition
for reinstatement of competitive oil and
gas lease WYW173785 from Maurice W.
Brown O&G, LLC, for land in Converse
County, Wyoming. The lessee filed the
petition on time, along with all rentals
due since the lease terminated under the
law. No leases affecting this land were
issued before the petition was filed.

and (e) of the Mineral Leasing Act of
1920 (30 U.S.C. 188). The BLM proposes
to reinstate the lease effective February
1, 2017, under the amended terms and
conditions of the lease and the
increased rental and royalty rates cited
above.

Pursuant
to the National Environmental Policy
Act (NEPA) and its implementing
regulations (40 CFR parts 1500–1508
and 43 CFR part 46), the BLM published
a Notice of Intent to prepare an EIS in
the Federal Register on November 7,
2016 (81 FR 78182). Due to recent
catastrophic wildfires that damaged a
significant portion of the planning area,
the BLM has chosen to focus on fire
recovery efforts at this time. The BLM
has now terminated the planning
process and the associated NEPA
process. No EIS or Record of Decision
will be issued.
