Availability of the Draft Environmental
Impact Statement for the Swan Lake
North Pumped Storage Project and
Intention To Hold Public Meeting
In accordance with the National
Environmental Policy Act of 1969 and
the Federal Energy Regulatory
Commission’s (Commission)
regulations, 18 CFR part 380, the Office
of Energy Projects has reviewed the
application for license for the Swan
Lake North Pumped Storage
Hydroelectric Project, located about 11
miles northeast of Klamath Falls in
Klamath County, Oregon, and has
prepared a draft Environmental Impact
Statement (EIS) for the project. The
project would occupy 730 acres of
federal lands administered by the U.S.
Bureau of Land Management and the
U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, state lands,
and private lands.
The draft EIS contains the staff’s
analysis of the potential environmental
impacts of the project and concludes
that licensing the project, with
appropriate environmental protective
measures, would not constitute a major
federal action that would significantly
affect the quality of the human
environment.
A copy of the draft EIS is available for
review at the Commission in the Public
Reference Room or may be viewed on
the Commission’s website at https://
www.ferc.gov using the ‘‘eLibrary’’ link.
