American cultural items. The National
Park Service is not responsible for the
determinations in this notice.
SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:
History and Description of the Cultural
Item
DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR
AGENCY:
Hawaiian organizations, has determined
that the cultural item listed in this
notice meets the definition of sacred
objects. Lineal descendants or
representatives of any Indian Tribe or
Native Hawaiian organization not
identified in this notice that wish to
claim this cultural item should submit
a written request to the Riverside
Metropolitan Museum. If no additional
claimants come forward, transfer of
control of the cultural item to the lineal
descendants, Indian Tribes, or Native
Hawaiian organizations stated in this
notice may proceed.
At an unknown date, one cultural
item was removed from San Juan
Pueblo, New Mexico. The sacred object
was associated with John Trujillo, San
Juan Pueblo. The donor gave the
cultural item to the Riverside
Metropolitan Museum, Riverside, CA on
May 23, 1985. The sacred object is a
prayer stick.
Written in orange ink on the plain
hand end of the carved wood prayer
stick is ‘‘John Trujillo/San Juan Pueblo’’.

Determinations Made by the Riverside
Metropolitan Museum
Officials of the Riverside Metropolitan
Museum have determined that:
• Pursuant to 25 U.S.C. 3001(3)(C),

leaders for the practice of traditional
Native American religions by their
present-day adherents.
• Pursuant to 25 U.S.C. 3001(2), there

Pueblo of Acoma, New Mexico; Pueblo
of Cochiti, New Mexico; Pueblo of
Isleta, New Mexico; Pueblo of Jemez,
New Mexico; Pueblo of Laguna, New
Mexico; Pueblo of Nambe, New Mexico;
Pueblo of Picuris, New Mexico; Pueblo
