ACTION:
The Coast Guard will enforce
the temporary safety zone for the
Annual FKCC Swim Around Key West,
in Key West, Florida from 9 a.m. until
6 p.m. on June 30, 2018. Our regulation
for Recurring Safety Zones in Captain of
the Port Key West Zone identifies the
regulated area for this event. This action
is necessary to ensure the safety of event
participants and spectators. During the
enforcement period, no person or vessel
may enter, transit through, anchor in, or
remain within the regulated area
without approval from the Captain of
the Port Key West or a designated
representative.
The regulations in 33 CFR
165.786, Table to § 165.786, Line No. 6.1
will be enforced from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.
on June 30, 2018.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The Coast
Guard will enforce the safety zones in
33 CFR 165.786, Table to § 165.786,
Line No. 6.1, from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.
on June 30, 2018 for the annual FKCC
Swim Around Key West in Key West,
Florida. This action prevents vessels
from transiting areas specifically
designated as safety zones during the
periods of enforcement to ensure the
protection of the maritime public and
event participants from the hazards
associated with the listed annual
recurring events. During the
enforcement period, no person or vessel
may enter, transit through, anchor
within, or remain within the established
regulated areas without approval from
the Captain of the Port Key West or
designated representative. The Coast
Guard may be assisted by other Federal,
State, or local law enforcement agencies
in enforcing this regulation.
The Coast Guard will provide notice
of the regulated area by Local Notice to
Mariners and Broadcast Notice to

encompasses all waters of Michigan City
Harbor and Lake Michigan within the
arc of a circle with a 1,000 foot radius
from the launch site located in position
41°43.700′ N, 086°54.617′ W. Entry into,
transiting, or anchoring within the
safety zone is prohibited unless
authorized by the Captain of the Port
Lake Michigan or a designated on-scene
representative.
SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:
This notice of enforcement is issued
under authority of 33 CFR 165.929,
Safety Zones; Annual events requiring
safety zones in the Captain of the Port
Lake Michigan zone and 5 U.S.C. 552
(a). In addition to this notice in the
Federal Register, the Coast Guard will
provide the maritime community with
advance notification of this safety zone
enforcement period via Broadcast
Notice to Mariners or Local Notice to
Mariners. The Captain of the Port Lake
Michigan, or a designated on-scene
representative may be contacted via
Channel 16, VHF–FM or at (414) 747–
