Mokupapapa Discovery Center (Center) is an outreach arm of Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument that reaches 65,000 people each year in Hilo, Hawai‘i. The Center was opened fifteen years ago to help raise support for the creation of a National Marine Sanctuary in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands. Since that time, the area has been proclaimed a Marine National Monument and the main messages we are trying to share with the public have changed to better reflect the new monument status, UNESCO World Heritage status and the joint management by the three cotrustees of the Monument. We therefore are seeking to find out if people visiting our Center are receiving our new messages by conducting an optional exit survey. VerDate Sep<11>2014 19:12 Apr 24, 2018 Jkt 244001 II. Method of Collection Surveys will be conducted by inperson interview as people exit the Center. Interviewers will record responses on paper, and later transfer them to an electronic database. III. Data OMB Control Number: 0648–0582. Form Number: None. Type of Review: Regular submission (extension of a currently approved collection). Affected Public: Individuals or households. Estimated Number of Respondents: 250. Estimated Time Per Response: 7 minutes. Estimated Total Annual Burden Hours: 29. Estimated Total Annual Cost to Public: $0 in recordkeeping/reporting costs. IV. Request for Comments Comments are invited on: (a) whether the proposed collection of information is necessary for the proper performance of the functions of the agency, including whether the information shall have practical utility; (b) the accuracy of the agency’s estimate of the burden (including hours and cost) of the proposed collection of information; (c) ways to enhance the quality, utility, and clarity of the information to be collected; and (d) ways to minimize the burden of the collection of information on respondents, including through the use of automated collection techniques or other forms of information technology. Comments submitted in response to this notice will be summarized and/or included in the request for OMB approval of this information collection; they also will become a matter of public record.
