Abstract: The Omnibus Reconciliation
Act of 1990 requires payment of a ‘‘user
fee’’ with each application for a
determination letter. Form 8717 was
created to provide filers the means to
make payment and indicate the type of
request.
Current Actions: There is no change to
Form 8717.
Type of Review: Extension of a
currently approved collection.

Production Credit.

Abstract: IRC section 45H allows
small business refiners to claim a credit
for the production of low sulfur diesel
fuel. The American Jobs Creation Act of
2004 section 399 brought it into
existence. Form 8896 will allow
taxpayers to use a standardized format
to claim this credit.
Current Actions: There are no changes
being made to Form 8896 at this time.
