AGENCY:
The following form has been
submitted to the Office of Management
and Budget (OMB) for extension of
clearance with change in compliance
with the Paperwork Reduction Act (44

Title: The Selective Service System
Registration Form.
Purpose: Is used to register men and
establish a data base for use in
identifying manpower to the military
services during a national emergency.
Respondents: All 18-year-old males
who are United States citizens and those
male immigrants residing in the United
States at the time of their 18th birthday
are required to register with the
Selective Service System.
Frequency: Registration with the
Selective Service System is a one-time
occurrence.
Burden: A burden of two minutes or
less on the individual respondent.
Change: Collecting email addresses
from respondents.

Abstract of proposed collection: In
accordance with the Consolidated
Overseas Schools Program as outlined
in 2 FAM 610, the Office of Overseas
Schools of the Department of State (A/
OPR/OS) is responsible for determining
that adequate educational opportunities
exist at Foreign Service posts for
dependents of U.S. Government
personnel stationed abroad and for
assisting American-sponsored overseas
schools to demonstrate U.S. educational
philosophy and practice. The
information gathered enables A/OPR/OS
to advise the Department and other
foreign affairs agencies regarding
current and constantly changing

conditions, and enables A/OPR/OS to
make judgments regarding assistance to
schools for the improvement of
educational opportunities.
The legal requirements that authorize
the function of A/OPR/OS and thereby

Educational and Cultural Affairs Act of
1961 (as amended), and the Department
of State Basic Authorities Act of 1956,
as amended by the Foreign Service Act
of 1980, Public Law 96–465.
