[Docket Nos. 50–348, 50–364; NRC–2017–

Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant, Units
1 and 2
Nuclear Regulatory
Commission.
ACTION: License amendment request;
opportunity to comment, request a
hearing, and petition for leave to
intervene; order imposing procedures.
AGENCY:
SUMMARY: The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory
Commission (NRC) is considering
issuance of an amendment to Renewed
Facility Operating License Nos. NPF–2
and NPF–8, held by Southern Nuclear
Company, Inc. (SNC, the licensee), for
the operation of Joseph M. Farley
Nuclear Plant (Farley), Units 1 and 2,
respectively, located in Houston
County, Alabama. The proposed
amendment would revise the
implementation date to transition to
National Fire Protection Association
(NFPA) 805 from November 6, 2017, to
the conclusion of the 1R28 spring 2018,
refueling outage. The NRC proposes to
determine that the license amendment
request involves no significant hazards
consideration. Because the amendment
request contains sensitive unclassified
non-safeguards information (SUNSI), an
order imposes procedures to obtain
access to SUNSI for contention
preparation.
