Abstract: The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act and other Federal consumer financial laws authorize the Bureau to engage in consumer protection rule writing. The Bureau plans to seek approval from OMB to conduct a Web survey of 8,000 1 individuals as part of the Bureau’s research on debt collection disclosures. The survey will explore consumer comprehension and decision making in response to debt collection disclosure forms. Published below is a provisionally-accepted Settlement Agreement with Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd., Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A., and Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing Corp., U.S.A., containing a civil penalty in the amount of five million, two hundred thousand dollars ($5,200,000), within thirty (30) days of service of the Commission’s final Order accepting the Settlement Agreement.
