Abstract: The Dodd-Frank Wall Street
Reform and Consumer Protection Act
and other Federal consumer financial
laws authorize the Bureau to engage in
consumer protection rule writing. The
Bureau plans to seek approval from
OMB to conduct a Web survey of 8,000 1
individuals as part of the Bureau’s
research on debt collection disclosures.
The survey will explore consumer
comprehension and decision making in
response to debt collection disclosure
forms.
Request for Comments: Comments are
invited on: (a) Whether the collection of
information is necessary for the proper
performance of the functions of the
Bureau, including whether the

on respondents, including through the
use of automated collection techniques
or other forms of information

It is the policy of the
Commission to publish settlements
which it provisionally accepts under the
Consumer Product Safety Act in the
Federal Register in accordance with the
terms of the Consumer Product Safety
Commission’s regulations. Published
below is a provisionally-accepted
Settlement Agreement with Kawasaki
Heavy Industries, Ltd., Kawasaki Motors
Corp., U.S.A., and Kawasaki Motors
Manufacturing Corp., U.S.A., containing
a civil penalty in the amount of five
million, two hundred thousand dollars
($5,200,000), within thirty (30) days of
service of the Commission’s final Order
accepting the Settlement Agreement.
DATES: Any interested person may ask
the Commission not to accept this
agreement or otherwise comment on its
contents by filing a written request with
the Office of the Secretary by June 20,
2017.
