The SSC Economics and Groundfish subcommittees will conduct a review of the draft review document. The Pacific Council and its advisors will receive the report and recommendations of the SSC Economics and Groundfish subcommittees on the five-year review of the U.S. West Coast Trawl Catch Share Program at its June 7–14, 2017 meeting in Spokane, WA. Although other non-emergency issues not contained in this agenda may come before this Council for discussion, those issues may not be the subjects of formal action during this meeting. AGENCY: ACTION: Notice; request for comments. The Assistant Regional Administrator for Sustainable Fisheries, Greater Atlantic Region, NMFS, has made a preliminary determination that an Exempted Fishing Permit application contains all of the required information and warrants further consideration. This Exempted Fishing Permit would allow four commercial fishing vessels, directed by Coonamessett Farm Foundation, to be exempt from Atlantic sea scallop regulations for the purpose of bycatch reduction research. Regulations under the MagnusonStevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act require publication of this notification to provide interested parties the opportunity to comment on applications for proposed Exempted Fishing Permits.
