Download as PDF 10906 Federal Register / Vol. 82, No. 31 / Thursday, February 16, 2017 / Notices Statutory provision Statutory amount 52 U.S.C. 30116(a)(1)(A) ................................................................................................................ 52 U.S.C. 30116(a)(1)(B) ................................................................................................................ 52 U.S.C. 30116(h) .......................................................................................................................... The limitation at 52 U.S.C. 30116(a)(1)(A) is to be in effect for the two-year period beginning on the first day following the date of the general election in the preceding year and ending on the date of the next regularly scheduled election. Thus the $2,700 figure above is in effect from November 9, 2016, to November 6, 2018. The limitations under 52 U.S.C. 30116(a)(1)(B) and 30116(h) shall be in effect beginning January 1st of the oddnumbered year and ending on December 31st of the next even-numbered year. Thus the new contribution limitations under 52 U.S.C. 30116(a)(1)(B) and 30116(h) are in effect from January 1, 2017, to December 31, 2018. See 11 CFR 110.17(b)(1). Lobbyist Bundling Disclosure Threshold for 2017 The Act requires certain political committees to disclose contributions bundled by lobbyists/registrants and lobbyist/registrant political action committees once the contributions exceed a specified threshold amount. 52 U.S.C. 30104(i)(1), (3)(A). The Commission must adjust this threshold amount annually to account for inflation. The disclosure threshold is increased by multiplying the $15,000 statutory disclosure threshold by 1.19052, the difference between the price index, as certified to the Commission by the Secretary of Labor, for the 12 months preceding the beginning of the calendar year and the price index for the base period (calendar year 2006). The resulting amount is rounded to the nearest multiple of $100. See 52 U.S.C. 30104(i)(3), 30116(c)(1)(B); 11 CFR 104.22(g). Based upon this formula ($15,000 × 1.19052), the lobbyist bundling disclosure threshold for calendar year 2017 is $17,900. asabaliauskas on DSK3SPTVN1PROD with NOTICES Dated: February 2, 2017. \1\ The reporting period always begins the day after the closing date of the last report filed. If the committee
is new and has not previously filed a report, the first report must cover all activity that occurred before
the committee registered as a political committee up through the close of books for the first report due.
\2\ Notice that this filing deadline falls on a weekend or federal holiday. Filing deadlines are not extended
when they fall on nonworking days. Accordingly, reports filed by methods other than registered, certified or
overnight mail must be received by close of business on the last business day before the deadline.
