Materials Licenses: Program-Specific
Guidance About Possession Licenses for
Production of Radioactive Material
Using an Accelerator.’’ The public
comment period was originally
scheduled to close on January 20, 2017.
The NRC has decided to extend the
public comment period to allow more
time for members of the public to
develop and submit their comments.
DATES: The due date of comments
requested in the document published on
December 16, 2016 (81 FR 91206) is
extended. Comments should be filed no
later than February 24, 2017. Comments
received after this date will be
considered if it is practical to do so, but
the NRC is able to ensure consideration

Using an Accelerator.’’
The purpose of the document
published on December 16, 2016 (81 FR
91206) was to provide the public an
opportunity to review and comment on
draft NUREG–1556, Volume 21,
Revision 1. This NUREG provides
guidance both to current holders of
possession licenses for radioactive
material produced in an accelerator and
to persons preparing applications for
such licenses. The NUREG also provides
the NRC criteria for evaluating a license
application.
The public comment period was
originally scheduled to close on January
20, 2017. The NRC has decided to
extend the public comment period on
this document until February 24, 2016,
to allow more time for members of the
public to submit their comments.

of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as
amended (the Act), the U.S. Nuclear
Regulatory Commission (NRC) is
publishing this regular biweekly notice.
The Act requires the Commission to
publish notice of any amendments
issued, or proposed to be issued, and
grants the Commission the authority to
issue and make immediately effective
any amendment to an operating license
or combined license, as applicable,
upon a determination by the
Commission that such amendment
involves no significant hazards
consideration, notwithstanding the
pendency before the Commission of a
request for a hearing from any person.
This biweekly notice includes all
notices of amendments issued, or
proposed to be issued, from December
20, 2016 to December 30, 2016. The last
biweekly notice was published on
January 3, 2016.

February 16, 2017. A request for a
