Pine Prairie Energy Center, LLC (Pine
Prairie), 333 Clay Street, Suite 1500,

Natural Gas Act (NGA). Pine Prairie
seeks authorization to construct two
additional electric motor drive
compressors within the gas handling
facility located at the Pine Prairie
Energy Center in Evangeline Parish,
Louisiana. Pine Prairie states this
installation will have no effect on the
certificated working gas storage capacity
nor its certificated maximum daily
deliverability or injection capability of
the facility. Pine Prairie proposes to

Any person or the Commission’s Staff
may, within 60 days after the issuance
of the instant notice by the Commission,
file pursuant to Rule 214 of the
Commission’s Procedural Rules (18 CFR
385.214) a motion to intervene or notice
of intervention and, pursuant to section
157.205 of the Commission’s
Regulations under the NGA (18 CFR
157.205) a protest to the request. If no
protest is filed within the time allowed
therefore, the proposed activity shall be
deemed to be authorized effective the
day after the time allowed for protest. If
a protest is filed and not withdrawn
within 30 days after the time allowed
for filing a protest, the instant request
shall be treated as an application for
authorization pursuant to section 7 of
the NGA.
Pursuant to Section 157.9 of the
Commission’s rules, 18 CFR 157.9,

Commission staff will either: Complete
its environmental assessment (EA) and
place it into the Commission’s public
record (eLibrary) for this proceeding, or
issue a Notice of Schedule for
Environmental Review. If a Notice of
Schedule for Environmental Review is
issued, it will indicate, among other
milestones, the anticipated date for the
Commission staff’s issuance of the final
environmental impact statement (FEIS)
or EA for this proposal. The filing of the
EA in the Commission’s public record
for this proceeding or the issuance of a
Notice of Schedule for Environmental
Review will serve to notify federal and
state agencies of the timing for the
completion of all necessary reviews, and
the subsequent need to complete all
federal authorizations within 90 days of
the date of issuance of the Commission

Board (SAB) Staff Office is announcing
a meeting of the SAB’s 2016–2018
Scientific and Technological
Achievement Awards (STAA)
Committee to discuss draft
recommendations for the chartered SAB
regarding the Agency’s 2016 STAA
recipients. A portion of the meeting will
be closed to the public.
DATES: The meeting dates are Monday,
August 15, 2016, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00
p.m. (Eastern Time), and Tuesday,
August 16, 2016, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00
p.m. (Eastern Time). The public portion
of the meeting will be held on Monday,
August 15, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00
p.m. (Eastern Time). The remainder of

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:
Background: Pursuant to section 10(d)
of the Federal Advisory Committee Act
(FACA), 5 U.S.C. App. 2, and section
(c)(6) of the Government in the
Sunshine Act, 5 U.S.C. 552b(c)(6), the
EPA has determined that a portion of
the 2016–2018 STAA Committee
meeting will be closed to the public.
The purpose of the closed portion of the
meeting is for the Committee to discuss
draft recommendations regarding
recipients of the Agency’s 2016
Scientific and Technological
Achievement Awards. The purpose of
the open portion of the meeting, which
will occur on Monday, August 15, 2016,
from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Eastern
Time), is to discuss administrative
changes to the STAA nomination
procedures, and the criteria for deciding
which STAA nominations merit award.
The STAA awards are established to
honor and recognize EPA employees
who have made outstanding
contributions in the advancement of
