Department’s information collection
requirements and provide the requested
data in the desired format. ED is
soliciting comments on the proposed

is described below. The Department of
Education is especially interested in

following issues: (1) Is this collection
necessary to the proper functions of the
Department; (2) will this information be
processed and used in a timely manner;
(3) is the estimate of burden accurate;
(4) how might the Department enhance
the quality, utility, and clarity of the
information to be collected; and (5) how
might the Department minimize the
burden of this collection on the
respondents, including through the use
of information technology. Please note

Title of Collection: Annual and Final
Performance Report Data Collection for
Arts in Education Grantees.

Type of Review: A new information
collection.

Abstract: The Government
Performance and Results Act (GPRA)
requires all federally funded agencies to
develop and implement an
accountability system based on
performance measurement. This
regulation applies to grantees receiving
funds from the Dept. of ED’s Office of
Innovation and Improvement Arts in
Education—Model Development and
Dissemination (AEMDD), Professional
Development for Arts Educators (PDAE),
and Arts in Education National Program
(AENP) programs. Each grantee is
required to report on performance and
progress towards GPRA measures as a
condition of the grant. Data for GPRA
performance measures are collected
through the Annual Performance Report
(APR) completed by grantees. The APR
also collects budget information and
data on project-specific performance
measures. The forms being submitted
for OMB review are APR templates that
