AGENCIES:
Under the provisions of the
Paperwork Reduction Act, the
Regulatory Secretariat Division will be
submitting to the Office of Management
and Budget (OMB) a request to review
and approve an extension of a
previously approved information
collection requirement concerning
freight classification description. A
notice was published in the Federal
Register at 80 FR 74105 on November
27, 2015. No comments were received.
DATES: Submit comments on or before
June 9, 2016.

this burden estimate or any other aspect
of this collection of information,
including suggestions for reducing this

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:
A. Purpose
The Government is required to
provide, in solicitations, a complete
description of the supplies to be
acquired and the packing requirements
to determine transportation (freight rate)
charges for the evaluation of offers.
Generally, the freight rate for supplies is
based on the ratings applicable to the
freight classification description
published in the National Motor Freight
Classification (for carriers) and the
Uniform Freight Classification (for rail)
filed with Federal and State regulatory
bodies.
When the Government purchases
supplies that are new to the supply
system, nonstandard, or modifications
of previously shipped supplies, and
different freight classifications may
apply, per FAR clause 52.247–53,
offerors are requested to indicate the full
Uniform Freight Classification or
National Motor Freight Classification
description applicable to the supplies.
The Government will use these
descriptions as well as other
information available to determine the
classification description most
appropriate and advantageous to the
government.
B. Annual Reporting Burden
Respondents: 3,000.
Responses per Respondent: 3.
Annual Responses: 9,000.
Hours per Response: .167.
