The
purpose of the meeting of the National
Historic Landmarks Committee of the
National Park System Advisory Board is
to evaluate nominations of historic
properties in order to advise the
National Park System Advisory Board of
the qualifications of each property being
proposed for National Historic
Landmark designation, and to make
recommendations regarding the possible
designation of those properties as
National Historic Landmarks to the
National Park System Advisory Board at
a subsequent meeting at a place and
time to be determined. The Committee
also makes recommendations to the
National Park System Advisory Board
regarding amendments to existing
designations and proposals for
withdrawal of designation. The
members of the National Historic
Landmarks Committee are:

This notice announces a
schedule of upcoming meetings for the
Gettysburg National Military Park
Advisory Commission.
DATES: The Gettysburg National Military
Park Advisory Commission will host
two meetings on Thursday, April 28,
2016, and Thursday, September 15,
2016. Both scheduled meetings will
begin at 7:00 p.m. and end at 9:00 p.m.
(EASTERN). Efforts have been made
locally to ensure that the interested
public is aware of the meeting dates.
Locations: Both meetings will be held
at the Gettysburg National Military Park
Museum and Visitor Center in the Ford
Education Center, 1195 Baltimore Pike,
Suite 100, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
17325.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The
Commission was established by Public
Law 101–377 (16 U.S.C. 430g–8), to
advise the Secretary of the Interior on
the coordination of the management of
the Gettysburg National Military Park
and Gettysburg Battlefield Historic
District with local governmental
jurisdictions.
The Commission is composed of 11
members, 10 of whom are appointed by
the Secretary of the Interior, as follows:
(a) One member representing each of the
four townships surrounding the park
(Cumberland, Mount Joy, Mount
Pleasant, Straban Townships) and the
Borough of Gettysburg; (b) one member
representing the Adams County,
Pennsylvania government; (c) one
member representing the Pennsylvania
State Historic Preservation Office; (d)
two members who are residents of
Adams County and are knowledgeable
about the park and its resources, one of
whom owns land or interests in land
within the park boundary; and (e) one
member with expertise in local historic
preservation. The Director of the
National Park Service or a designee, is
an ex officio, non-voting member.
