AGENCY:
The Department of Justice
(DOJ), Drug Enforcement
Administration (DEA), will be
submitting the following information
collection request to the Office of
Management and Budget (OMB) for
review and approval in accordance with
the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995.
This proposed information collection
was previously published in the Federal
Register at 80 FR 67422, on November
2, 2015, allowing for a 60 day comment
period.
DATES: Comments are encouraged and
will be accepted for an additional 30
days until February 10, 2016.

Collection
1. Type of Information Collection:
Extension of a currently approved
collection.
2. Title of the Form/Collection:
Application for Import Quota for
Ephedrine, Pseudoephedrine, and
Phenylpropanolamine.
3. The agency form number, if any,
and the applicable component of the
Department sponsoring the collection:
DEA Form: 488. The applicable
component within the Department of
Justice is the Drug Enforcement
Administration, Office of Diversion
Control.
4. Affected public who will be asked
or required to respond, as well as a brief
abstract:
Affected public (Primary): Business or
other for-profit.
Affected public (Other): Not-for-profit
institutions; Federal, State, local, and
tribal governments.
Abstract: Title 21, United States Code
(U.S.C.), Section 952, and Title 21, Code
of Federal Regulations (CFR), § 1315.34
require that persons who desire to
import the List I chemicals Ephedrine,
Pseudoephedrine, or
Phenylpropanolamine during the next
calendar year shall apply to DEA on
DEA Form 488 for an import quota for
those List I chemicals.
5. An estimate of the total number of
respondents and the amount of time
estimated for an average respondent to
respond: The DEA estimates that 35
persons complete 80 DEA Forms 488
annually for this collection at 1 hour per
form, for an annual burden of 80 hours.
Respondents complete a separate DEA
Form 488 for each List I chemical for
which quota is sought.
6. An estimate of the total public
burden (in hours) associated with the
proposed collection: The DEA estimates
that this collection takes 80 annual
burden hours.

Abstract: The information requested
is collected to fulfill the requirements of
18 U.S.C. Chapter 44. Under Federal
law, individuals prohibited from
purchasing, possessing, receiving, or
transporting firearms are permitted to
apply for restoration of their firearms
privileges. The information to be
supplied must identify the specifics of
the applicant’s appeal for restoration of
privileges. The information is
investigated, processed, examined, and
stored initially at ATF Headquarters.
5. An estimate of the total number of
respondents and the amount of time
estimated for an average respondent to
respond: An estimated 250 respondents
will take 30 minutes to complete the
survey.
6. An estimate of the total public
burden (in hours) associated with the
collection: The estimated annual public
burden associated with this collection is
