Description of Request: The licensee requests Commission approval to grant the Town of Batesburg-Leesville permission to use project lands and water within the project boundary on Lake Murray for the construction of a raw water intake facility. The raw water intake facility would withdraw up to 5.5 million gallons of water per day for public drinking water and would consist of a 12-foot long by 8-foot wide platform with a 25-foot long by 4-foot wide gangway, which would be connected to a 12-foot long by 16-foot wide floating dock. The floating intake structure would include a fabricated intake float and gangway system. The intake structure would be screened and have a maximum approach velocity of 0.31 feet per second. The intake siphon would be equipped with an air release valve and check valve, and connect to the raw water pump station. The raw water pump station would be constructed of concrete and have a stucco finish, resembling a residential PO 00000 Frm 00034 Fmt 4703 Sfmt 4703 structure. The raw water line would leave the project boundary and follow road right of ways to an existing water treatment plant. In order to provide the Town of Batesburg-Leesville access to the raw water intake facility for construction, operation and maintenance purposes, the licensee has proposed to convey an easement of approximately 0.02 acres within the project boundary to the Town of Batesville-Leesburg. l.
