AGENCY:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory
Commission (NRC) is issuing Regulatory
Issue Summary (RIS) 2015–10,
‘‘Applicability of ASME Code Case N–
770–1, as Conditioned by Federal
Regulation, to Branch Connection Butt
Welds.’’ This RIS is intended to inform
addressees about reactor coolant system
Alloy 82/182 branch connection
dissimilar metal nozzle welds that may
be of a butt weld configuration and,
therefore, require inspection under the
NRC’s regulations. This RIS is addressed
to all holders of an operating license or
construction permit for a pressurized
water nuclear power reactor under
applicable NRC regulations, except
those who have permanently ceased
operations and have certified that fuel
has been permanently removed from the
reactor vessel.

published a notice of opportunity for
public comment on this RIS in the
Federal Register (79 FR 63446) on
October 23, 2014. The public comment
period was extended in the Federal
Register (79 FR 70897) on November 28,
2014, to allow more time for members
of the public to develop and submit
their comments. The agency received
comments from five commenters. The
staff considered all comments, which
resulted in minor clarifications to the
RIS. The evaluation of these comments
and the resulting changes to the RIS are
discussed in a publicly-available
memorandum, which is in ADAMS
under Accession No. ML15068A119.

The ACRS Subcommittee on Future
Plant Designs will hold a meeting on
August 18, 2015, Room T–2B1, 11545
Rockville Pike, Rockville, Maryland
20852.
The meeting will be open to public
attendance. The agenda for the subject
meeting shall be as follows:
Tuesday, August 18, 2015—8:30 a.m.
until 12:00 p.m.
The Subcommittee will discuss
sections of the NuScale Design-Specific
Review Standard. The Subcommittee
will hear presentations by and hold
discussions with the NRC staff and
other interested persons regarding this
matter. The Subcommittee will gather
information, analyze relevant issues and
facts, and formulate proposed positions
and actions, as appropriate, for
deliberation by the Full Committee.
Members of the public desiring to
provide oral statements and/or written
comments should notify the Designated
Federal Official (DFO), Maitri Banerjee
(Telephone: 301–415–6973 or Email:
Maitri.Banerjee@nrc.gov) five days prior
to the meeting, if possible, so that
appropriate arrangements can be made.
Thirty-five hard copies of each
presentation or handout should be
provided to the DFO thirty minutes
before the meeting. In addition, one

before the meeting. If an electronic copy
cannot be provided within this
timeframe, presenters should provide
the DFO with a CD containing each
presentation at least thirty minutes
before the meeting. Electronic
recordings will be permitted only
during those portions of the meeting
that are open to the public. Detailed
procedures for the conduct of and
participation in ACRS meetings were
published in the Federal Register on
October 1, 2014, (79 FR 59307).
