term of the Cobscook Bay Tidal Energy
Project pilot project license for two
years from February 1, 2020 to February
1, 2022. ORPC received an eight-year
pilot project license on February 27,
2012. ORPC states that precedence
exists for longer-term (10 year) pilot
project licenses. ORPC is currently in a
technology optimization phase and the
extension would provide opportunity to
test alternative turbine designs.
