NMFS prepared an EA that includes
an analysis of potential environmental
effects associated with NMFS’ issuance
of an IHA to SAE to take marine
mammals incidental to conducting a 3D
seismic survey in the Beaufort Sea,
Alaska. NMFS has finalized the EA and
prepared a Finding of No Significant

EA was available to the public for a 30day comment period before it was
finalized.
Authorization
As a result of these determinations,
NMFS has issued an IHA to SAE for the
take of marine mammals, by Level B and
Level A harassments, incidental to
conducting a 3D OBN seismic survey in
the Beaufort Sea during the 2015 openwater season, provided the previously
mentioned mitigation, monitoring, and
reporting requirements are incorporated.
