1. Title: Claims under the Oil
Pollution Act of 1990.
OMB Control Number: 1625–0067.
Summary: This information collection
provides the means to develop and
submit a claim to the National Pollution
Funds Center to seek compensation for
removal costs and damages incurred
resulting from an oil discharge or
substantial threat of discharge. This
collection also provides the
requirements for a responsible party to
advertise where claims may be sent after
an incident occurs.
Need: This information collection is
required by 33 CFR part 136, for
implementing 33 U.S.C. 2713(e) and 33
U.S.C. 2714(b).
Forms: None.
Respondents: Claimants and
responsible parties of oil spills.
Frequency: On occasion.
Burden Estimate: The estimated
burden increased from 8,267 hours to
9,370 hours a year due to an increase in
the estimated number of annual
respondents.
Authority: The Paperwork Reduction Act
of 1995; 44 U.S.C. Chapter 35, as amended.
