petitioner seeks relief to accumulate
additional flight test hours that
represents the intended in-service
aircraft configuration, capabilities, and
operations after the approval of the 767–
2C Amended Type Certificate. These
additional flight test hours will add
assurances that the 767–2C aircraft, its
components and its equipment are
reliable and function properly in
accordance with § 21.35(b)(2). The
exemption will allow relief from
completing the required tests prior to
issuance of the Type Certificate. This
relief to defer testing will not exceed the
aircraft initial entry into operational
service.

FMCSA announces its
decision to renew the exemptions from
the vision requirement in the Federal
Motor Carrier Safety Regulations for 19
individuals. FMCSA has statutory
authority to exempt individuals from
the vision requirement if the
exemptions granted will not
compromise safety. The Agency has
concluded that granting these
exemption renewals will provide a level
of safety that is equivalent to or greater
than the level of safety maintained
without the exemptions for these
commercial motor vehicle (CMV)
drivers.

This decision is effective June 6,
