General description of report: This
information collection is authorized by
Sections 2A, 11 and 12A of the Federal

provide qualitative and limited
quantitative information on credit
availability and demand, as well as
evolving developments and lending
practices in the U.S. loan markets.
Consequently, a portion of the questions
in each survey typically covers special
topics of timely interest. There is the

7592) requesting public comment for 60

the provision of financial services, and
the functioning of key financial markets.
Responses are obtained from a senior
officer at each participating institution

submission. The survey is conducted
when major informational needs arise
and cannot be met from existing data
sources. The survey does not have a

consists of a limited number of
questions directed at topics of timely
interest. The survey helps pinpoint
developing trends in bank funding
practices, enabling the Federal Reserve
to distinguish these trends from
transitory phenomena.
