Notice of Lodging of Proposed
Consent Decree Under the Clean Water
Act and the Resource Conservation
and Recovery Act
On April 10, 2015, the Department of
Justice lodged a proposed consent
decree with the United States District
Court for the Northern District of Illinois
in the lawsuit entitled United States v.
Beaver Oil Co., Inc., Civil Action No. 13
C 830.
The defendant in this case, Beaver Oil
Company, Inc., operates a centralized
waste treatment and used oil recycling
facility in Hodgkins, Illinois. The
lawsuit alleges that the defendant
violated the Clean Water Act and the
Resource Conservation and Recovery
Act by failing to comply with
regulations governing the handling of
wastewater and hazardous wastes. The
proposed settlement requires the
defendant to perform injunctive relief
and pay a civil penalty of $250,000.
The publication of this notice opens
a period for public comment on the
consent decree. Comments should be
addressed to the Assistant Attorney
General, Environment and Natural
Resources Division, and should refer to
United States v. Beaver Oil Co., Inc., D.J.
Ref. No. 90–5–1–1–09169. All
comments must be submitted no later
than thirty (30) days after the
publication date of this notice.

from the Engaging Men and Youth
Program.

(4) Affected public who will be asked
or required to respond, as well as a brief
abstract:
Primary: The affected public includes
the approximately 35 grantees of the
Engaging Men and Youth Program.
Abstract: The grant program is
designed to support projects fund
projects that develop or enhance new or
existing efforts to engage men and youth
in preventing crimes of domestic
violence, dating violence, sexual assault
and stalking with the goal of developing
mutually respectful, nonviolent
relationships.
(5) An estimate of the total number of
respondents and the amount of time
estimated for an average respondent to
respond/reply: It is estimated that it will
take the approximately 35 respondents
(Engaging Men Program grantees)
approximately one hour to complete a
semi-annual progress report. The semiannual progress report is divided into
sections that pertain to the different
types of activities in which grantees
may engage. An Engaging Men Program
grantee will only be required to
complete the sections of the form that
pertain to its own specific activities.
