Cap on the Atlantic mackerel fishery

SUMMARY:
I. Abstract
This request is for extension of a
currently approved information
collection.
Federal regulations at Title 50, Part
665, of the Code of Federal Regulations
require that owners of vessels fishing
for, or landing, pelagic squid in the
western Pacific region obtain a permit
from NOAA Fisheries Service (NMFS).
In addition, the regulations require
vessel operators to report fishing
activity and harvest on daily logbooks
and mark their vessels for identification.
The information collected is used to
identify participants in the fishery,
