Organization (IMO)/International Labor
Organization (ILO) issues related to the
merchant marine industry; and
(e) Briefings about on-going Coast
Guard projects related to personnel in
the U.S. merchant marine, including a
draft task statement concerning job
descriptions for the various billets on
merchant vessels.

recommendations. The Committee will
review the information presented on
each issue, deliberate on any
recommendations presented by the
working groups and approve/formulate
recommendations for the Department’s
consideration. Official action on these
recommendations may be taken on this
date.

Committee Meeting.
AGENCY:
The Merchant Mariner
Medical Advisory Committee will meet
to discuss matters relating to medical
certification determinations for issuance
of licenses, certificates of registry,
merchant mariners’ documents, medical
standards and guidelines for the
physical qualifications of operators of
commercial vessels, medical examiner
education, and medical research. The
meeting will be open to the public.
DATES: The Merchant Mariner Medical
Advisory Committee is scheduled to
meet on Monday, March 16 and
Tuesday, March 17, 2015, from 8 a.m. to
5 p.m. Please note that the meeting may
close early if the committee has
completed its business. This meeting
will be held as scheduled subject to the
availability of funds. Anyone interested
in attending this meeting may want to
contact the Coast Guard before making
their travel and hotel reservations.

Alternate Designated Federal Officer for
the Merchant Mariner Medical Advisory
