Abstract: Employers use Form 8850 as
part of a written request to a state
employment security agency to certify
an employee as a member of a targeted
group for purposes of qualifying for the
work opportunity credit. The work
opportunity credit covers individuals
who begin work for the employer before
July 1, 1999.
Current Actions: There are no changes
being made to Form 8850 at this time.

Form 8621–A) to eliminate any
prejudice to the interests of the U.S.
government on account of the taxpayer/
shareholder’s inability to make timely
purging elections; and (iii) the taxpayer/
shareholder shows as a balance due on
Form 8621–A an amount reflecting tax
plus interest as determined under Reg.
