SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: On
September 11, 2014, the U.S.
Department of Energy (DOE) published
a document in the Federal Register
initiating a rulemaking and data
collection process to consider

establishing energy conservation
standards for commercial pre-rinse
spray valves. 79 FR 54213. In that
document, DOE announced the
availability of a framework document.
The document provided for the
submission of written comments by
October 27, 2014, and oral comments
were also accepted at a public meeting
held on September 30, 2014. The
Plumbing Manufacturers International
requested, by letter dated October 9,
2014, an extension of the public
comment period for the framework
document, in view of the breadth,
technical nature, and amount of data
requested, and to ensure that key
domestic and international industry
representatives have adequate time to
review and provide comments.
DOE has determined that an extension
of the public comment period for the
framework document is appropriate to
allow interested parties additional time
to submit comments for DOE’s
consideration. Thus, DOE is extending
the comment period by 15 days. DOE
will consider any comments received by
November 12, 2014 to be timely
submitted.
