The sole purpose of a preliminary permit, if issued, is to grant the permit holder priority to file a license application during the permit term. The proposed project would consist of the following new facilities: (1) A weir with screened intake; (2) a 19,365-footlong, 30 to 36-inch-diameter high density polyethylene (HDPE) penstock; (3) a 50 feet by 40 feet concrete block powerhouse with a single Pelton turbine/generator unit rated for 5 megawatt at 1,606 feet of net head; (4) a 1,000-foot-long, 60-inch-diameter HDPE tailrace conduit; (5) an underground 7.2-mile-long, 12-kilovolt (kV) transmission line connection to an existing transmission line (the point of interconnection); (6) a 40-feet-wide right of way access road; and (7) appurtenant facilities. The estimated annual generation of the project would be 36.87 gigawatt-hours.
