AGENCY:
In accordance with the
Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, FAA
invites public comments about our
intention to request the Office of
Management and Budget (OMB)
approval for to renew an information
collection. The information collected is
used by the FAA to register aircraft or
hold an aircraft in trust. The
information required to register and
prove ownership of an aircraft is
required by any person wishing to
register an aircraft.

Type of Review: Renewal of an

Background: Public Law 103–272
states that all aircraft must be registered
before they may be flown. It sets forth
registration eligibility requirements and
provides for application for registration
as well as suspension and/or revocation
of registration. The information
collected is used by the FAA to register
an aircraft or hold an aircraft in trust.
The information requested is required to
register and prove ownership.
Respondents: Approximately 146,757
applicants.
Frequency: Information is collected
on occasion.
Estimated Average Burden per
Response: 32 minutes.
Estimated Total Annual Burden:

Aviation Regulation (FAR) Part 91,
General Operating and Flight Rules, are
authorized by Part A of Subtitle VII of
the Revised Title 49 United States Code.
FAR Part 91 prescribes rules governing
the operation of aircraft (other than
moored balloons, kites, rockets and
unmanned free balloons) within the
United States. The reporting and
recordkeeping requirements prescribed
by various sections of FAR Part 91 are
necessary for FAA to assure compliance
with these provisions.

airmen, state or local governments, and
