Type of Review: Revision of a currently approved collection. Abstract: VA Form 21–8926 is used to verify beneficiaries receiving REPS benefits based on schoolchild status are in fact enrolled full-time in an approved school and is otherwise eligible for continued benefits. The program pays VerDate Mar<15>2010 18:01 Jun 12, 2014 Jkt 232001 benefits to certain surviving spouses and children of Veterans who died in service prior to August 13, 1981 or who died as a result of a service-connected disability incurred or aggravated prior to August 13, 1981. Beneficiaries over age 18 and under age 23 must be enrolled full-time in an approved post-secondary school at the beginning of the school year to continue receiving REPS benefits. An agency may not conduct or sponsor, and a person is not required to respond to a collection of information unless it displays a currently valid OMB control number.     Type of Review: Revision of a currently approved collection.
    Abstract: VA Form 21-4170 is completed by individuals claiming to 
be common law widows/widowers of deceased Veterans and by Veterans and 
their claimed common law spouses to establish marital status. VA uses 
the information collected to determine whether a common law marriage 
was valid under the law of the place where the parties resided at the 
time of the marriage or under the law of the place where the parties 
resided when the right to benefits accrued.
